Description
An exhibition of over 70 paintings and sculptures by four artists that decipher the grammar of the human body.

This exhibition is an outstanding display of talent by four artists of different nationalities: Ade Artie Tjakra (Indonesian), Jeannette Bijlmer (Dutch), Mary Jane Edleson (American) and Teguh Ostenrik (Indonesian).

As denoted by the exhibition title - Corpus: Strength & Sensibility - the collection of over 70 paintings and sculptures by this group of artists have one common thread – to decipher the grammar of the human body and in so doing capture subtle emotions and attitudes from the human form.

Ostenrik’s sculptures and paintings portray the human being in search of identity, struggling with masks yet with a vulnerable yearning for love. At other times, his multi-hued torsos show an attempt to break free of limitations.

Bijlmer and Edleson’s paintings and sketches show strong form and movement, while Ade’s works capture a more pensive nature in her nudes.
